Bernardino General Hospital was established in September 1987 as a small maternity clinic. It was initially known as Bernardino Medical Maternity Clinic, which accommodated mostly maternity patients. With its success as a maternity clinic, a group of doctors saw the potential of Bernardino General Hospital and built their first hospital under the Bernardino General Hospital Corporation called Bernardino General Hospital 1 in 1994. Today, Bernardino General Hospital 1 aims to provide various quality and accessible healthcare services at affordable rates.

To meet the needs of their patients, Bernardino General Hospital 1 expanded its 20-bed capacity building to accommodate 80 beds.
